We need your donation to ensure the new aquatic center is designed and constructed to continue our cherished aquatic traditions, including the All City Meet. The DesignA whole new facility for all.
The new Aquatic and Community Center at Heather Farm Park will replace the Clarke Swim Center which was built in the 1960s. The project is being funded primarily by the Walnut Creek voter-approved Measure O, a ten-year, half-cent sales tax measure. However, to ensure the new aquatic center included a 50-meter pool and was designed to accommodate current programming and with improved recreational and exercise features, the WCAF is contributing $3 million dollars to the project.
The design phase, expected to be completed by spring 2025, involves the creation of design documents, such as landscape plans, floor plans, pool plans, building elevations and finish selection.
The construction phase of the project is anticipated to be about a two-year process, from summer 2025 through 2027. The Clarke Swim Center is projected to remain open to the public throughout the construction period.
